Flight Sound Explorer
Compare sampled flight paths and modeled outdoor sound before and after changes to eastbound departures.
How sampled weeks compare
Four seven-day samples—not annual averages. Differences describe these observed weeks and do not, by themselves, prove that a procedure change caused them.
How the estimate works
Observed paths
Each sample contains seven UTC days of publicly archived ADS-B positions for likely eastbound Runway 10L departures.
Sound model
Closest three-dimensional approach, reported altitude, aircraft category and distance spreading produce an approximate brief outdoor peak. Events modeled below 40 dBA are excluded from the typical-event calculation.
What it cannot tell you
This is not an FAA noise contour, microphone reading or prediction of future routing. Weather, buildings and individual aircraft can move a result substantially.
